Culinary Workshops: Foodies Without Borders facilitates Pop up culinary schools and workshops around Kenya. These workshops provide basic culinary skills and build confidence in the young men and women who are interested in working in the culinary world. We encourage our supporters to sponsor a student or even an entire workshop whenever possible. Please contact us if you have any innovative ideas, experience, donations or pledges regarding the workshops.
Consultation & Support: Foodies Without Borders also consults startups and operational restaurants with marketing and operational strategies. In some cases we partner with establishments which provide internships to our beneficiaries. We are also constantly seeking and accepting quality used and new kitchen wares in the U.S for later distribution to our students in need, as well as businesses that have partnered with our non profit.
Women’s Kitchen Outreach: We are making an unprecedented effort to reach out to more girls and women in rural communities and create workshops together and strategize on enhancing their cooking experiences at home and potential new businesses. We have partnered with 2 communities and we plan to build our first 2 outdoor fully equipped communal kitchens in Naivasha and Kilifi by the end of 2021. These kitchens will provide an inviting safe space and provide access to modern kitchen wares/equipment and skilled staff to teach women who are interested in embarking into the food business.
Permaculinary: The word is derived from a combination of “Permaculture” and “Culinary.” Foodies Without Borders has recently acquired 2 new farms dedicated to growing strictly organic produce and establishing a test kitchen on our Naivasha site as well. Our farm has many indigenous species and we have also introduced exotic organic species that are currently growing naturally and doing very well in these initial stages. Our farms will be open to groups, individuals, institutions, universities and also foodies from around the world. We are excited, Welcome!
